3D borehole imaging of open holes accurately predicts cement volume and assists in planning completions. Imaging of the cased hole shows casing deformation and wear, reducing long-term completions risks.
Well ID runs Petromar’s(Nabors) DrillViewTM tool to collect high frequency pressure and drilling dynamics data. The tool is a short self-contained sub that can be fitted anywhere in the drillstring.
High Frequency Drilling Dynamics Technology:
High frequency downhole pressure and drilling dynamics allows effective root cause analysis of downhole drilling dysfunctions. For example, by understanding where and when the downhole pressure exceeds safe thresholds, stick-slip occurs, or torque on bit increases, the cause can be linked and (hopefully) remediated. Coupling drilling dynamics with borehole imaging tools like the 4D Caliper, an even more complete picture of cause and effect can be determined.
